Aspire-Igen is a national training provider which helps to change the lives and prospects of young people. It achieves this through excellent partnerships with employers.

Every year they host an Aspire2work ‘red-carpet’ event so that family, friends and fellow students can see just how far they have come. The event recognises improvement, effort and commitment. The event also has many prizes for employers.  The event brings together employers and young people and is a perfect opportunity to reward the efforts of all involved.

This year Cromwell Property Services was nominated for the “Employer of the year 2016” award. They faced tough competition from Costa Coffee, Roseville Community Nursery and Latch. Cromwell stood an fantastic chance as it has given 300 young learners site based experience over a period of 4 years. Providing site-based experience to young learners provides a solid platform which they can take to into the working world.

The event was glittered with celebrities which included Bradford’s own and Emmerdale star Natalie Anderson. We were also fortunate to have the presence of two of the ‘Calendar Girls’ to give out awards. The ‘Calendar Girls’ is the remarkable story of how eleven women were involved in an alternative version of the women’s institute calendar.

It turned out to be a winning day! Cromwell Property Services took home the “Employer of the year” award.

The award was presented by Emmerdale star and host Natalie Anderson. Along with the award a cheque was also given to Cromwell of £150 to donate to a charity of their choice. As a good will gesture, Cromwell will match fund this donation of £150 to the Bloodwise charity. This is a charity the Calendar girls were supporting. Bloodwise is a UK based charity dedicated to funding research into all blood cancers including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Mohammed Imran from Cromwell said the Aspire-igen awards were “a testament to the dedication and determination of young people”. He added “Cromwell has always been about giving young people a chance, and is proud of the partnership with Aspire-igen.”

The other nominees for the ‘Employer of the Year Award’ were:

Costa Coffee – largest and fastest growing coffee shop chain in the UK

Roseville Community Nursery – they provide high quality childcare and pre-school education which is available to all families.

Latch- is a community Benefit Society. They are split into 3 services. Property Development, supported Housing, Property Housing and Property Management.
