Plumber Paul interview

Meet our engineer Paul. Family man and car enthusiast. When he is not working you might find him turning his hand to an an old washing machine. He has worked for Cromwell for over 9 years.

Hi Paul, thanks for the taking the time out this morning. So how long have your worked in repairs?

I have worked in the industry for over 20 years. I started when I was 13 years old and it something I used to do with my Granddad. My Granddad was 13 years old when he started. You could say this stuff is in our DNA! Together we bring 70 years’ experience to this trade.

What kind of work do you specialise in?

I am a plumber by trade, but I can turn my hand to anything. For Cromwell I have completed many projects which include full scale works in bathrooms and kitchens.

Where does your love of fixing things come from?

I have always loved doing DIY. When I am not working you will always find me in the house fixing something. I am always collecting things also, whether it is old dryers or washers. As a kid I used to make speaker boxes from scratch. I guess I like the challenge of making something from scratch.

What advice would you give to our young apprentices?

I would say something my Grandad taught me, “feel proud of all the jobs you do”. Challenges are something you will experience daily in this job and you just have to get on with it. Another thing, is to stick with the job and see the problem from another perspective. I take pride in every job no matter how big or small.

What motivates you Paul?

I am motivated by happy customers and hitting targets. The best thing about this job is that every day is different.
